Ron Powell joined the RAF as an apprentice and retired as a group captain running the first stage of flying training for the British armed forces. In between, he worked on Vulcan nuclear bombers; flew C-130s; became a flying instructor and instructor of instructors; commanded two University Air Squadrons, and a Harrier detachment in southern Italy; completed two tours in the MOD and commanded the RAF Officers and Aircrew Selection Centre. Since retirement, he has published a Battle of Britain novel, Wings Over Summer; and a memoir, Shropshire Blue. You can discover more at http://www.ronpowell.co.uk
