He flew Hurricanes, a top ace of the Battle of Britain (17), he was killed during a landing after a patrol. An agressive pilot who initially served in the Czech airforce, Polish, and RAF (Polish Squadrons / 303), he already had 11 victories against the Lutfwaffe from action in France before joining the RAF. He fled as the Nazi invasion moved east to Poland. Escaping to France then England, he joined the RAF and chose to remain with a Polish squadron as a "guest" pilot, flying more independently. RAF DFM and bar, he died on Nov 8 1940 following the Battle of Britain. This site will document Hurricane pilots. as well as Spitfire pilots.
