John Sheridan BLYTH DFC

He was a reconnaissance pilot flying 51 missions capturing imagery for the allies. In the video on the right, which now has millions of views, the episode is described where Blyth lands belly up after having wheel trouble, and trying all kinds of maneuvers to unlock the stuck wheel . He was returning from a recon mission to Germany (from England). A doctor on the base captured the video, since then edited into a documentary including interview with Blyth who sees film for the first time later in life. This film was entered in the Sundance Film festival winning awards. This pilot was quite interested in the spitfire in high school, when the Battle of Britain raged, and he subsequently signed up as did many. The Mk 9 variant was modified for recon missions, with no guns. Solo flights deep into Germany at altitude.
