Robert Alexander Angus, of Edinburgh, joined the RAFVR as an Airman u/t Pilot in May 1939. He was called up for full-time service on 1st September and trained at 12 EFTS and 5 EFTS. Angus joined 611 Squadron at Tern Hill on 29th September 1940 from 7 OTU and was posted to 41 Squadron at Hornchurch in October.
On 20th February 1941 Angus was shot down by Werner Molders over Dover in Spitfire P7322. He was seen to bale out over the sea but was never found.
Angus was 21 years old. He is remembered on the Runnymede Memorial, Panel 38.
