DJ Hawkins DFC
After initial training in California my father joined as far a I can tell 504 sq. on 7 May 1942.

11-2-44 132 Squadron to 15-11-44.He then transferred to transport training then to India.

On 1st August DJ Hawkins was hit by flack and crashed landed in the Benny Bocage region initially thought to be dead but turned up after that day injured.
He was awarded the DFC while with 132 Bombay squadron.
After the war he joined BEA but was let go. He then flew as a company pilot for the Anglo Iranian Oil Company in Abadan where he met his wife. They returned to the UK in 1950 where Jim continued to fly commercially until his retirement.
He died age 74.
