Geoffrey Lloyd was born in Liverpool, England, on March 8th 1919 and received his secondary education at Wellington College. He took a six months course in shorthand and typing at the Wellington to Technical College and also had five years musical tuition by a
private teacher.
His sports interests were football, cricket, swimming, water-polo, shooting and gymnasium work. First Fifteen at Wellington College and represented the College for three years in the first swimming team. Later he was a keen member of the Oriental Rugby Club. When applying for enlistment in aircrew on June 16th 1940 he was employed by the Commercial Broadcasting Service, Wellington as an announcer.

Flight Sergeant Lloyd was enlisted at the Initial Training 1940 Wing, Levin, on March 23rd 1941 and posted to Harewood for his elementary training on May 4th. After completing this course he proceeded on June 14th to Blenheim for his service training. He was awarded the Flying Badge on September 6th and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on October 18th. He was further promoted Sergeant on October 1st 1942. November 17th he embarked for the United Kingdom for service in the Royal Air Force School, Training.
On his arrival in England on December 26th 1941 after a period at No.3 Personnel Reception Centre, Bournemouth, he was posted to No.17 Advanced Flying Unit, Watton, early in February 1942.
On April 28th he proceeded to No.55 Operational Training Unit. He was transfered in June to No.32 Fighter Squadron, West Malling.
Shortly afterwards No.32. Squadron proceeded overseas end of April, 1942,

Flight Sergeant Lloyd was flying in a fighter type aircraft on attachment to No. 323 Squadron. On December 26th 1943 at Maison Blanche, Algiers, when a collision occurred with a transport aircraft making a low approach. Flight Sergeant Lloyd lost his life in the accident. He was buried in the El Calia Cemetery, Maison Carree, Algiers, afterwards being re-interred in the British Cemetery, Dely, Ibraham, Algiers.
