Crash landed following escort in connection with ‘Market Garden’. The aircraft was completely written off with both wings broken off, the tail assembly broken almost –completely off and the spinner pounded nearly flat. Bystanders reported that the aircraft completed three somersaults. One side of the Perspex cockpit cover was broken open, and Shaw got out through the hole, without a scratch.
