Comments / Questions:by: Wawny Crash landing QJ-B 2022-06-10 01:03:15 The photos of the aircraft here are from my father's collection of original photos and the painting. The B&W photos were taken when he crash-landed at Hurstmonceaux Castle, Beachy Head after running out of fuel over France. He was trying to get to Biggin Hill 9/7/1941. Both flying a week later. reply by: Wawny Date correction 2023-03-07 09:52:20 I believe the date against Wawn C N should be 1941 and not 1942. Thank you reply by: Wawny Bardie Wawn's crash-landing 2023-03-23 03:11:18 W3410 Vb 92Sq 'QJ-B' 5-7-41 Crashed Hailsham 9-7-41 Sgt Wawn (RAAF) safe AST 19-7-41 38MU 316Sq (http://www.airhistory.org.uk/spitfire/p012.html - redacted) reply |
