Dennis Frederick Chadwick joined the RAFVR in May 1937 as an Airman u/t Pilot. He was called up on 1st September 1939 and after completing his training was posted to 5 B&GS Jurby on 10th February 1940 as a staff pilot.
On 18th May Chadwick was attached to 4 (C) Ferry Pilot Pool from 5 B&GS. The attachment ceased on the 20th and he returned to 5 B&GS. He was posted to 7 OTU Hawarden on 2nd September.
After converting to Spitfires he joined 64 Squadron at Leconfield on the 17th. He flew his first sortie on the 19th.
On 11th November 1940 Chadwick damaged a Me109 and on 5th December he made a forced-landing at Faversham in Spitfire I R6813 after being attacked by a Me109.
Commissioned in July 1941, he transferred to the Administrative Branch in 1943 and was released in 1945 as a Squadron Leader.
Chadwick died in 1973.
