"Recce" pilot in MJ966 in 414 Sqd. based at Eindhoven, flying FR IXC recon conversion of Spitfire, armed. In combat near Cologne on Christmas Eve 1944, made five claims on Bf.109s in single sortie, 3 confirmed, 2 dammaged. DFC.

Second link right (backtonormandy) indicates Sawers died (KIA) in circumstances unknown, aircraft abandoned over the English Channel. But another link (cieldegloire.com) indicates the same incident in MK924 as engine failure with glide to allied territory, pilot returned to Canada Sept 26 1945, left the RCAF Nov 1.
