Whitney Willard STRAIGHT
Born on November 6, 1912 in New York City, NY to US Citizens Major Willard Dickerman Straight & heiress Dorothy Payne Whitney. His father passed away from the Swine influenza while on active duty in France in 1918.
Later his mother remarried to Leonard K. Elmhurst in 1925 and the family moved to England. During Battle of Britain Member of 601 Squadron "The Millionaires Squadron" flying Hurricanes.
We do have a reference number for the operational log book(s) available in the RAF archives, in London, and the reference numbers include: Log Book accession nos. X006-4116/029, B353
