At 1335 hours, just prior to crossing the coast at CESENATICA? Formation at 5000 ft Lt Roelofse, J.J., called to say engine had cut dead. He was seen to glide for coast and crossed before he got to 3000 ft. He attempted to roll A/C twice in order to bale but A/C did not roll and spiralled into marsh land N.W. of CESENATICA at M.627193. Area recced for 15 mins and no sign of parachute of body seen. Pilot was NOT seen to bale during descent of A/C.
