He was serving with No 92 Sqn but was killed whilst probably flying in Hurricane IIC, BP121 'L' of No 80 Sqn, which failed to return from an escort mission to Hurricanes of No 238 Sqn, patrolling the El Alamein area. He is commemorated on the Alamein Memorial.
