John William Bocca joined 54 Squadron RAF on 5th December 1940

He was killed whilst flying in Spitfire I, R6899 of No 54 Sqn, which crashed near Catterick whilst carrying out a practice dogfight. He is buried in Newcastle-upon-Tyne (All Saints) Cemetery.
