73 squadron
Philip G Gladstone learnt to fly in late 1939 in Southern Rhodesia. Joined 73 Squadron at the start of WWII and went through the North Africa campaign, then on into the European campaign. He served in the war and then went on to fly the Vampire, Meteor, and Javelin. Not sure when he got his commission, but he ended up Sqn Ldr of 23 Squadron flying the Javelin
