Son of Karol Stanisław (died 05th August 1944) and Halin (died 05th August 1944) Grave Z, 3, 18,19 a of Pfeiffer. In 1925, he moved with his family from Radom to Warsaw, where he attended the Gymnasium. Stefan Batory. He belonged to the 23rd Warsaw Scout Team "Pomarańczarnia". After passing the matriculation exam in 1935, he began studying at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology. At the University of Technology, he obtained a half-diploma and in the fall of 1938 he entered the School of Cadets of the Aviation Reserve in Sadków
On September 27, 1941, he volunteered for the Polish Army in Buzułuk. As a pre-war pilot, he ended up in the Grouping of Aviators and Sailors in Tockoje, then transferred to Kołtubanka. At the end of January 1942, he left with the center for Kermine in Uzbekistan, and then to Krasnovodsk on the Caspian Sea while waiting for transport to the Middle East. There, in the third decade of March 1942, he was included in the newly appointed Liaison Squadron, consisting of about 120 aviation soldiers under the command of Captain Pil. Eugeniusz Kowalczyk. The squadron was to serve the staff of Gen. Władysław Anders in Kujbyszew, however, due to the final evacuation of the Polish Army from the USSR, the orders regarding the future fate of the squadron were changed. She was finally evacuated from the Soviet Union on April 4, 1942 on the ship "Stalin" to Pahlewi in Persia.
Szlenkier made his last combat flight on April 26, 1945 (bombing targets in Bad Zwischenahn). He remained in the 308th Squadron until August 25, 1945, and from September 18 of that year he stayed at the Air Force Base at Dunholme Lodge. In 1947, he joined the Polish Adoption and Deployment Corps, ultimately deciding to stay in Great Britain. He completed his service in the aviation in the Polish rank of lieutenant and British Flight Lieutenant. During the war, he made a total of 92 combat flights and 1 operational flight. He was awarded the Cross of Valour three times, the Aviation Medal three times, the Field Pilot Badge and commemorative medals.
