FULL NAME: Eric Dudley Murray RIPPON.

Eric Rippon joined 154 Sqn as an FO in Malta, just after the sqn arrived from Tunisia following the German surrender
He flew ops from Malta through June 43 and for the first half of July
On July 10th the Allies invaded Sicily, and 154 moved to Lentini on July 20th
On July 25th Rippon was on his fourth op of the day, on a sqn patrol over Cape Milazzo when it was bounced by an enemy fighter, and Rippon was shot down. He baled out, and was seen in his dinghy east of Catania.
He was picked up by the Germans and became a PoW
