Ted Hurt was shot down and killed on 30th July 1942, when the Tangmere and Hornchurch wings were escorting Hurri-bombers on a big Ramrod over Cap Gris Nez and St. Omer.
He was likely shot down by an Fw190 of JG26, and is buried in in the Longuenesse cemetery in St. Omer
He was 20 years old
