Chas Brown came to 154 as a PO at the end of August 1942, just as their Hornchurch posting was coming to an end
He flew two missions 27th Aug and 30th Aug 42, before 154 left Hornchurch and started preparations for Operation Torch
Was promoted FO 1st Oct 1942(Gazetted 20th Nov 42)
Went with 154 to North Africa Nov 42, flew with them through the Algeria and Tunisia campaigns till German surrender May 43
The on to Malta/Sicily/Italy
Promoted F/Lt 7th Jan 1944 (Gazetted 28th Jan 44)
