Trained at RAF Depot Penaith (7 August 1941), RAF Depot Viceroy-Court (9 November 1941), 5 ITW (3 December 1941), 6 EFTS (20 December 1941), 22 SFTS (1st May 1942), 58 OTU (29 September 1942)
Posted in as Sergeant on 23 December 1942. Promotions to F/Sgt (17 June 1943), P/O (30 June 1943), F/O(30 December 1943), (A)F/Lt (27 July 1944). Left the unit on 19 April 1945 and joined the RAF/Belgian Training Unit.
Left aviation after the War and joined the medical world.

F/Lt Lavigne took temporary command of 350 Squadron as acting Squadron Leader between December 24, 1944, and January 4, 1945. During his tenure, the squadron was attached to 125 Wing and moved to Ophoven (Y32) in Belgium.
In summary, he was part of the Belgian personnel operating Spitfires (including the Mark XIV) against V-1 flying bombs and supporting the Allied advance in Europe.
