Before WW2, Delorme was a pilot at 1/I/2Aé of the Aé Mil. After the German invasion he Escaped to Spain on 29 May 1942. Arrested in Spain and imprisoned at Miranda Camp (24 July1942 - 15 June 1943) he eventually arrived in the UK on 24 July 1943. He attended 57 OTU on 28 March 1944 and was posted to 350 Sqn (BE) on 30 May 1944.

Paul "Poupouille" Delorme died on 21 March 1946, in a post-war accident, when he fell from a window at Sylt, whilst still serving with 350 Sqn.

F/Lt Delorme was buried at Esneux E.P.H. on 24 March 1946.
