Robert Ernould joined the RAFVR on 7August 1941 and was sent for training at: 5ITW on 8 December 1941, 10 EFTS on 10 May1942, 22 SFTS on 22 July 1942, 58 OTU on 12 January 1943 and 57 OTU on 26January 1943. Posted as Sgt to 350 Sqn on 14 April 1943, he was promoted to F/Sgt on 6January
The Squadron diary noted his departure:
"31/07/1944 - G. de Patoul, G. Beckers and R. Ernould having finished a tour are rested. A group of new pilots coming from OTU have joined 350 Squadron: A. Kicq, H. Boels, E. Pauwels and G. Gigot. Ramrod: Withdrawal cover for 240 Lancasters 70 miles South of Paris. Squadron lands on beach owing to inclement weather."
1944. Posted to RAF Station Harwell (N.O.F.D.) on 10 July 1944, RAF Station Rivenhall (N.O.F.D.) on 24 October 1944. Commissioned P/O, 31 October 1944, he moved to 85 GSU on 26 February 1945 where he stayed until 22 May 1945.
Robert Ernould died in Anderlecht (Brussels) on 3rd October 1991
