Sigismond Neulinger joined the Belgian Forces of Great Britain on 4 April 1942. He attended the Depot Aéronautique Militaire Belge on 5 May 1942, 2Receiving Center (25 June 1942) and Regent's Park Depot (20 July 1942). He eventually joined the Belgian Section of the RAF on 8 August 1942 and commenced training with a posting to 17 ITS(8 August 1942), followed by 6 EFTS (30 October 1942) with the rank of LAC. His training continued with 2 ACDC (25 December 1942), PDC - Ottawa (18 January1943), 31 EFTS (22 February 1943), 34 SFTS (19 April 1943), 31 PDC (1st October 1943, promoted Sergeant), 7 PRC (29 October 1943), 5 PAFU (20 June 1944), 53OTU (21 November 1944) and 83 GSU (27 February 1945).
Posted into 350 (BE) Sqn, 15 March 1945. The Squadron diary noted the following:
10/03/1945 - L. Siroux, J. Van Liefland and S. Neulinger reinforce 350 Squadron.
05/04/1945 - During an Armed Recce. in the region Aschendorf - Meppen - Lingen, the Squadron intercepts 5 Fw-190, R. Muls and S. Neulinger sharing the destruction of one Fw-190 but unfortunately F/O Cresswell-Turner is shot down and taken prisoner.
Sigismond Neulinger joined Sabena after the War and after a successful career died at Saint-Julien-en-Genevois, France, on 22 February 2015.
