Claude Orban de Xivry Born joined the Force Publique in Congo on 6 November 1941. Engaged as Sergeant in to Belgian Section of the RAF on 22 July1943, he trained at: 7 Receiving Center (6 November 1943), 5 PAFU (23 May1944) and 53 OTU (12 September 1944).
Orban de Xivry was posted in to 350 (Belgian) Squadron on 28 November 1944, where he stayed for the rest of the War. The Squadron diary notes the following:
28/11/1944 C. Orban de Xivry arrives fresh from OTU.
18/04/1945 Armed Recce. in the triangle Wirtenberg - Lubeck - Hamburg. a formation consisting of F/Lt P. Bangerter, P/O D. Watkins, G. Gigot and C .Orban, discovers an airfield and destroyed 4 Ju-188 and damages 1 Fw-190 on the ground.
He died in a flying accident. at Kindu, Belgian Congo on 6 July 1953.
