'Jean Jean ' Rigole was a Sgt Pilot with 11/5/1Aé before the War. He escaped fromBelgium and arrived in Great Britain on 20 June 1941- where he enlisted in to Belgian Section of the RAF on 14 July 1941 (as Sergeant). 'Jean Jean' was Sent to SFTS on 26 July 1941 and to 58 OTU on24 October 1941. He was posted to 124 Sqn on 23 December 1941 and then transferred to 350 (BE) Sqn on16 June 1942. Promoted to W/O, on 2 May 1943, he was posted to RAF Depot N°1 on 6 December 1943,. He was promoted to F/O on 30 December 1943 and joined the Holding Unit on 20 January1944. Rigole returned to 350 (BE) Sqn on 22 May 1944 for non-flying duties. He then joined the BelgianTraining School on 23 November 1944 and the School for Administration and Accountancy on 28 March 1945.

WO Jean Rigole died in a plane crash at Beausart (on 24 February1952) flying Spitfire '14' ser n° SG38.
