Spitfire LFIX aircraft NH 151 9G-S was hit by flak during a patrol over the Nijmegen area of Holland. P/O McMillan attempted a forced landing and was killed when his damaged aircraft struck a gully and crashed in Dorpssteeg, Holland.

Son of Osman Teryl McMillan and Ina McMillan, of Windsor, Ontario.

P/O McMillan was BROTHER to Sgt Alexander Teryl McMillan (RCAF), killed in action 1941-10-21on 408 Squadron Hampden I aircraft P 1212 EQ-T that crashed near RAF Coningsby returning from an operation to Bremen, Germany, possibly due to running out of fuel.

Mook is a village on the main road from Nijmegen to Venlo and Maastricht, 11 km south of Nijmegen. The MOOK WAR CEMETERY lies on the road from Mook to Groesbeek. From the A73 motorway take the exit at the junction Overasselt Mook Groesbeek. Follow the N271 towards Mook village itself from which the cemetery is signposted, the cemetery being situated on the Groesbeekseweg.
