Killed in Action Sep 27/44 age 28. #443 Hornet Squadron (Our Sting Is Death). S/L McLeod was on a high patrol over the Nijmegen area of Holland in Spitfire 4#NH 245 and was last seen when the Squadron attacked an enemy aircraft. He was the top scoring RCAF pilot credited with destroying twenty-one enemy aircraft. Squadron Leader Pilot McLeod is buried in the War Cemetery at Rheinberg, Germany.
