Franciszek Gruszka was born on 21st January 1910 Lwow Poland. He joined 65 Squadron at Hornchurch on 7th August 1940.
He was killed on the 18th when his Spitfire R6713, crashed at Westbere, near Canterbury, during a flight patrol. The site of the crash was excavated in 1976 and the pilot's remains were found.
Originally remembered on the Polish Air Force Memorial at RAF Northolt - Panel 20
Gruszka is now buried in Northwood Cemetery, Middlesex - Sec. H. Grave 202.
