Walenty Krepski, a former member of the Polish Air Force, arrived in England in January 1940 and was commissioned in the RAF on the 27th. He completed his training, converted to Spitfires and joined 54 Squadron at Homchurch on 23rd August 1940.
Krepski failed to return from an operational sortie over the Flamborough area on 7th September. It is believed that he lost his bearings due to R/T failure and crashed into the sea, in Spitfire R6901.
Krepski was 23.
He is commemorated on the Polish Air Force Memorial at Northolt - Panel 34.
