John Edward HAMER
7th Feb 1945 - Killed in collision with Beiseiegel D J (MT687 as in ORB)
Squadron released for training purposes but the weather restricted flying to six sorties which were devoted to CINE GUN ATTACKS. LT. D.J. BEISIEGEL (SA. 542354V) and F/O. J.E. HAMER completed their attacks and were flying home from the CESENA area when for some reason unknown the two aircraft collided. Both pilots were killed. As a result the Squadron has suffered the grievous loss of two first class leaders and gentleman.
