Bombing sortie as White Section leader, 308 Sqn, against Brakel ferry, Gorinchem at dawn 1st Jan 1945. Bombs hung up, returned to St Denijs-Westrum just as attack by II/JG1 began (Operation Bodenplatte). Shot down 1 x fw190 but was then himself shot down by two other fw190's. Initially buried by members of 308Sqn at the RC church St Denijs-Westrum, later re-interred at Lommel Polish War cemetery, Belgium.
