Started in the army as an anti aircraft gunner but transfered to RAF as soon as possible,as he said we hit bugger all so it seemed safer to be at the otef end.First joined 72 squadron in north Africa,also served in Malta,ltaly/Sicily, and later in India,Burma and Vietnam at the Japanese surrender.Finished the war as a warrant officer and was awarded the DFC.
