John Allan DOYLE finished his service as a flight lieutenant.

Accident 1455hrs 26/02/45 when on landing after a Air to Air Gunnery practice with A58-137, the later overtook A58-257 about 700 yards in landing roll and collided ripping off the port wing of A58-257, at Guildford WA. Pilot; F/Sgt J A Doyle Serv#423412 was seriously injured. Pilot of A58-137; F/O B OÇonnell Serv#437142 was not injured

Records have shown, (and dad has described) that another plane ‘landed on top of ‘ his plane after he had landed.
This was in Derby W.A. Dad suffered a broken neck and was ( eventually- after mis diagnosis) sent to Jervis Bay for rehab.
Dad passed away on the 13th of August 2009 at the age of 86. A bubbler bearing his and mum’s names is on the 16th fairway of the Shelley Beach Golf Club on the Central Coast
