Brendon Denham Baker DFC joined 92 Squadron on 13 October 1942, he became POW ON 16 August 1943. F/LT baker was liberated from Caserta Hospital in Sicily by the allied forces overrunning the area.

He was killed whilst flying Fw 190S, AM037 of the RAE, which crashed inverted whilst attempting a force landing following an engine failure on a flight from Farnborough to Brize Norton. He is buried in Bridgwater (Quantock Road) Cemetery
