28th November, 1943.
Fl/Lt Dennis Draper captured a Me 410 intact Italy.
With flying again cancelled because of waterlogging, there was much excitement when a Me 410 circled the field (Montecorvino), three times and then landed. The crew realised their mistake and attempted to take off again but two officers (Flt Lt Quenet** of flying control and P/O Draper who were inspecting the landing area in a 15cwt Bedford had the presence of mind to drive the truck in front of the e/a, and were officially recognised as its captors.

A good day's intruder work attacking light shipping, in Dubrovnik harbour, locomotives and m/t was marred for 73 when F/O Draper on his 2nd run (at Orasac) attacking a 15LWT failed to pull out and crashed into the vehicles. He was killed instantly. He had been with the Squadron since the previous May.
