940897 Flight Sergeant Donald Roland BEARD, No. 73 Squadron. In the fighting in the Western Desert this airman has taken part in a very large number of sorties, many of them at night. Throughout, his work has been most impressive. He has destroyed 2 Junkers 88s. In attacks on ground targets, he has destroyed many enemy vehicles, setting them on fire; he also destroyed a searchlight and 2 gun positions.
