John Hallings-Pott took command of No. 25 Squadron in Jan 1939 which was equiped with Gladiators and later Blenheims and received one of the first DSO's of WW2 awarded to a RAF-officer.
During the war he held positions a Officer Commanding, RAF Northolt and Officer Commanding, RAF Biggin Hill.
He ended his career as Air Officer Commander No. 2 Group in 1956.

Took part in the dusk raid by 12 Blenheims of 25 and 601 squadron on the German seaplane base at Borkum on 28th November 1939.

August 17th 1943. Also flying today was G/Cpt J.R Halling-Pott commanding officer of the wing whose aircraft (JK426) is kept on our Squadron.
