GILBERT, WINSLOW DAWSON RCAF
He was killed whilst flying Spitfire I, R7253 of No 145 Sqn, which spun into the ground near Shripney in Sussex whilst searching for a crashed aircraft. He is buried in Chichester Cemetery.
This pilot flew Spitfire fighter aircraft for the RCAF / RAF (60% of all RCAF personnel served in RAF units at some point) in WWII, this record has come from the database of Mr. Halliday, a Canadian military historian.
