Whilst attacking enemy transport near Bernay he hit a tree and burst into flames. Admitted to Basingstoke Neurological and Plastic Surgery Hospital. 25 August 1944. Transferred to QVH East Grinstead 5 September 1944 where he underwent 2 operations. Died 2010.
