David John McBRIEN

Flying Officer McBrien has participated in a large number of air/sea rescue searches during which he has rescued eight members of air crew from the sea. He has always displayed exceptional courage and skill and a particular keenness to undertake hazardous missions. As flight commander this officer has set a magnificent example.
After demobilisation in 1946, he studied medicine and in 1963 he was appointed as a consultant physician in general medicine at Worthing, a post he held until his retirement in 1988. He was recognised as a superb teacher and clinician.
