F/Sgt Gerald (Gerry) Bishop after being hit by flak Crashed landed (Spitfire MA802) at 03 road in Vina village, near Vrgorac, Yugoslavia.

Hit by AAA ( selfpropelled ) from Prolog ( Vrgorac, Yugoslavia, now Croatia, captured by quisling Ustashas, transfered to Germans, playing a star, smoking a pipe or a cigar was driven into the village of Prolog in a german jeep, not a sign of a bad mood. Later saying he spent summer hoildays in Podgora. According to eyewitness Mgr. Milivoj Franić , my ex. colegue, and friend, inhabitant of Prolog , at that time was about 10 years old. At that time a small river Matica was a border between Partisans and Germans. The pilot crashlanded on the wrong side of the river, a couple of hundred meters short.
