How About Some Aviation Art for Christmas!

2025-12-15

We have a fine art partner who is offering us a small commission should you purchase one of his prints. The Rob Wisdom fine art collection of Spitfire imagery on high quality Giclée cotton-rich fine art paper can be purchased by clicking the link just provided, or by clicking the ad at the top of the site, on any Spitfire or pilot page. You can't miss them!

Why is this important for us? First, the imagery is outstanding, and, commemorates key air battles like the Battle of Britain and the Malta siege and air war. There are other Spitfire images with specific serials, and, you can even request a custom print with a serial you have in mind, how cool is that?

If users from our site order up, please let us know (e.g. if you order up an existing or custom print). Also, please ask us to ask Rob on your behalf about other imagery such as in Italy or North Africa, or perhaps over Holland or France. How about tipping a V1?

Also, you have to purchase a Spitfire image (vs. say Lancaster) for us to get a small commission, as their gallery does have other aviation prints, and, for that matter, other places in the UK. Just the same wee are thrilled no matter what you get, as it shows we are driving traffic to the right place.

We are starting to match our ad space with partners that provide items relevant to the Spitfire, and, we hope our users take this opportunity to pick something up for Christmas and by doing so, helping us get this partnership up and running. As you support us, by purchasing a print (various sizes), you have helped us cover a key cost, and that is hosting. All our software development for new features (like the recent airfield maps - launched in the blog post below) is donated volunteer time, and all our research on behalf of users is also donated time -- so we really do appreciate your support.

Do you want our editor Kevin Charles to scour the ORBS at the National Archives and research some family member's time in various squadrons, or show you how to do that yourself? Do you need help adding photos or adding to your relatives pilot page, we're here to help.

And finally -- Merry Christmas!
