F/Sgt Le Gal joined 154 in early June 1942,a few days before they were posted to Hornchurch
His first op, an early morning patrol on 7th June, was the very last 154 op from Churchstanton; the pilots were flown to Hornchurch later that morning
Le Gal flew throughout the squadron's 12 weeks at Hornchurch, his last op being a Rhubarb 22nd Aug Bruges-Ostend
On 27th Aug, in BM132 "Rootes Snipe", he had a taxiing accident with a lorry at Hornchurch
He did not go to North Africa with the squadron in November
In Aug 42 he is recorded as a P/O in the ORB
